2. Consistent Extraction Method: We always utilise blueberries that are ripe and full of anthocyanins, never using rotting or mouldy fruit, so quality starts at the source. We wash the blueberries with clean water or ozone to eliminate surface contaminants and pesticide residues. The fruit is then mechanically crushed (the peel is retained, since the pterostilbene is mostly contained in the epidermis). Freeze-drying (below -40°C) or low temperature hot air drying (≤50°C) might minimise the loss of components. The extraction is done using safe, food-grade ethanol in ratios of 1:10 to 1:15 (raw material: solvent). The extraction is carried out 2-3 times and the extracts are pooled. Ultrasonication (20-40kHz) is also used to boost extraction yield by 20-30% .

3. Multi-step purification The first step is the enrichment on the AB-8 macroporous resin. The extract is added and the pH is adjusted to 3-4 to enhance adsorption. Then the product is rinsed with water to eliminate contaminants such as sugars and organic acids. Then, desorption was done with 70-80% ethanol, and the pterostilbene fraction was collected. Rotary evaporation is carried out under nitrogen environment below 40°C to avoid oxidation.

Secondly, silica gel column chromatography is used to obtain high purity, using petroleum ether-ethyl acetate gradient elution at first. The main peak of pterostilbene was collected and monitored by HPLC . Recrystallisation in a food grade ethanol-water combination is undertaken to get a purity of >95% then. Finally, preparative HPLC purification is conducted to get > 98% purity (pharmaceutical grade).

Stringent control of solvent and heavy metal residues. This multi-step purification process efficiently increases the purity and bioavailability of the product, fulfilling the demands of many industries and applications.

4. Strict control of solvent residue: Solvent residue is a critical safety indication for pterostilbene powder, particularly for pharmaceutical applications. It should be in compliance with international pharmacopoeias like ICH Q3C and EP/USP. We test for residual solvent residue using GC for Ethanol, Ethyl Acetate etc. (As per ICH Q3C) Heavy metal residues (≤10 ppm) like lead, arsenic and other residues are analysed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) or ICP-MS. Pesticide Residues GC-MS/LC-MS Screening for Organochlorine and Organophosphorus pesticides (EU MRLs compliant) Heavy metal and solvent residues are tightly managed to international pharmacopoeia standards (USP/EP), fulfilling the high-end requirements of medicines, health supplements and cosmetics.

Complete and Professional Test Reports: GMP-compliant manufacturing lines We have five production lines, with careful control of critical indications in the production process, such as heavy metals and solvent residues. Our criteria for internal controls are higher than USP/EP. For example, the primary HPLC peak area should be > 98% (excluding solvent peak) and the single impurity is < 0.1% (HPLC normalisation technique). Third-party verification is also supported with samples submitted to SGS, Eurofins and other authorities for assessment. Each product batch is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), heavy metal testing report, and microbiological testing report. SGS reports accompany the shipment and third party testing is also offered. Stability and Packaging and Storage: To ensure the chemical stability, purity, and safety of pterostilbene powder during storage and transportation, scientific management is implemented across multiple aspects, including raw material characteristics, production processes, storage conditions, and packaging materials, with verifiable data supporting this. First, HPLC/UPLC analysis is used to ensure the purity of the pterostilbene raw material is ≥98%, minimizing the impact of impurities (such as oxidation products) on stability. Second, accelerated stability testing (40°C/75% RH, 1-3 months) is performed on the raw material to verify its degradation trends. Airflow milling technology is used to enhance solubility while preventing particle aggregation that could impact stability. High-barrier, moisture- and UV-resistant aluminum foil bags are used for packaging. Water and oxygen transmission rate testing is used to ensure the packaging material has an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of < 0.1 cc/m²/day and a water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of < 0.1 g/m²/day. Heat seal strength testing is performed to ensure the packaging bag seals are leak-proof. Finally, we use accelerated testing (40°C/75% RH, 6 months) to simulate extreme conditions, and long-term testing (25°C/60% RH, 24 months) to provide real-world shelf life data. This rigorous testing ensures consistent product quality.
